I rescued a juvenile Starling from the wood burning stove this morning. It had fallen down the chimney. It was very much a Starling but I was surprised to see it had brown feathers, with no iridescent feathers yet. It flew off very strongly, so seemed none the worse for its adventure. I hope it isn't there again tomorrow.
I watched a young Raven, climbing up the steep hill beside the road on the way to Calgary. It was not flying at all, just stepping and hopping up.
We have a Blue tit family in the bird box beside the porch. I haven't mastered getting the photographs off the camera app into my Photo library but when I do I will post some photographs, they are growing so fast.
