I am not at home so I can't share the photos from the week as they are sitting on the desktop computer. It was a grey but dry week with some very still days and then on Friday a cracking storm!
Farmer has been busy with the stock this week, continuing to coax the hoggs onto food in the cattle shed, checking the tups and cattle daily, doing fencing and gate repairs and endless other tasks. I was on an interview panel, in the middle of the week, for Sustainable Mull & Iona who under the umbrella of MICT are employing an Energy Advisor for Mull and Iona. It is an exciting development for the islands as the Energy Advisor will undertake training to do home energy assessments but be able to follow through with helping organise any energy savings measures recommended. The interviews were held at An Roth, the MICT building at Craignure. It is quite a novelty for me to head off to work somewhere else, even managed a car share from Calgary!
Farmer and family snuck off on the Fishnish Lochaline ferry that day and headed to Glasgow for a bit of R&R. It being Sunday night, Farmer and Daughter have headed back to the island now, and I am still here in Glasgow, as I am going to do some computer training tomorrow morning.
Our new website has been launched today - I hope you will like it as much as I do. There are quite a few tweaks to do over the next week or so. Please do have a look!
The new website has been designed by Tim Hunter from Skye Websites. And the wonderful illustrations are by Bea Forshall, who has just graduated from Falmouth College of Art. She has a particular interest in environment and wildlife so creating the illustrations for us was easy peasy for her.
I didn't feel I could do a blog post without some images, so here are some from the summer.
Over the Haunn Coronation Meadow to the hills of Rum, which earlier this week were covered in snow.
Sunset light on grasses mid summer.
The Grass of Parnassus
And the Proven turbine with the distinctive shape of Caliach headland beyond.
